Why we built this
Most "deal" sites just repost whatever a retailer marks down, no questions asked. A "50% off!" banner sitting next to a price that was quietly raised the week before isn't a deal — it's a trick. Budgies exists to tell the difference. We track real price history over time, so when we say something's a good deal, it's because the numbers actually back it up, not because a retailer told us to say so.
How Budgie decides
Every offer gets a score based on how its current price compares to what we've actually observed over time — its typical price, its historical low, and (where we have the data) what other stores are charging for the same product right now. If a "regular price" looks inflated just to make a markdown look bigger than it is, we flag it SUS instead of pretending it's a win. We'd rather tell you to wait than talk you into a fake discount.
What we are (and aren't)
Budgies is a deal-intelligence site, not a retailer. We don't sell anything, ship anything, or process payments — every purchase happens on the retailer's own site, under their own terms. What we do is watch prices across the stores we track, so you don't have to.
How we make money
When you click through to a retailer and buy something, we may earn a small affiliate commission — at no extra cost to you. It's the same price either way; the commission just comes out of the retailer's marketing budget, not your wallet. That relationship never changes how we score a deal — see our Terms for the full affiliate disclosure, and our Privacy Policy for what little data we do collect.
